Daily Blabber Celebrity Gossip Blog from iVillage Entertainment
In today's Cindy Adams column, the gossip diva reported that a large celeb wedding is set to take place "in the next few minutes" in Lake Como, Italy. She didn't know who would be tying the knot, but that "monsignors and bishoplets are running around acting important and hinting and winking. But saying nothing other than 'It's a big American actor.'" Now let's play a little game, shall we? Let's put on our sleuth caps and try to figure out who's getting hitched. I think the biggest clue here is Lake Como. Georgey Clooney has a fancy shmancy villa there, so I'm going to bet it's one of his friends. (It's certainly isn't him! Mr. Bachelor.) Based on that, here some possibilities: Brad & Angelina: Brad is pals with GC, and he and Angie are hotter than ever. (Did you see the photo of him babysitting Maddox and Zahara this week?) But she's filming a movie in NYC right now, which leaves little time for wedding plans.
TheStar.com | News | Watts up with dark, eerie tunnel for city walkers ...
Her 11-year-old son participates in after-school activities that sometimes keep him from walking home until 5 p.m. or so, she said, which worries her since his route takes him beneath the darkened train trestle. We checked it out and noticed that none of the thick glass covers over the lights were broken, which would have been a sign of vandalism, meaning that the fix needed may be as simple as changing some bulbs. STATUS: Toronto Hydro is in charge of most street lighting, but responsibility for lighting in some parks and underpasses is somewhat murkier. So we called both Steve Johnston, who deals with media for the works department, and Tanya Bruckmueller, who does the same thing for Hydro. Bruckmueller called back to say she'd determined Hydro is responsible for lights in the Brock St.
Show the games in high definition
While watching the snowy playoff game at Lambeau Field last Saturday I remarked to my fellow football fans how much fun it would be to see and hear the game in HDTV.On Monday, local media were reporting an increase in the sale of television receivers and attributed it in part to excitement over the Packers appearing in the NFC Championship game today. That underscores my lament of no HDTV from our local Fox affiliate. While this is no fault of the local staff, the station ownership needs to know how much the 7 Rivers Region wants to enjoy our Packers games in the high definition video and exciting audio that the majority of the country receives.Once you watch football in HDTV, you'll see what I mean. Please join me in writing and calling WLAX-TV so your wishes are passed on to their ownership group.
Oh That George Bush! He Was For The Troops Before He Was Against Them
They include Libya, Iran and Iraq under Saddam. The administration was unable to explain why it had not acted earlier to object to the provision. Perhaps it's because Harriet Miers is no longer the president's legal counsel. A deeply embarrassed White House promised that it will work quickly with Congress to restore the dozens of military and veterans provisions in the bill, which got overwhelming bipartisan support, once Congress returns to work in January. The new bill would not, of course, include the terrorist-act provision. The provision was put into the bill by Senator Frank Lautenberg, the New Jersey Democrat, without public debate, a not unusual occurrance on Capitol Hill. It would help U.S. plaintiffs in lawsuits against Iran and Libya, including relatives of Americans killed in the bombing of the Marine barracks in Beirut in 1983 and in the bombing of a Berlin disco in 1986.
Packers, Giants Fans Ready To Take On Cold
The hand warmers that many fans commented on are in high demand but thanks to a corporate donation, they won't be hard to find come game time. Mills Fleet Farm donated 30,000 hand warmers to the Green Bay Packers, and they will be distributed to fans as they enter the gate for Sunday's game. .
